Inktober is the brainchild of cartoonist Jake Parker. He writes:
Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. I created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve my inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. Anyone can do Inktober, just pick up a pen and start drawing.
That's the gist of it. There is also a list of prompts which may be used, if desired. Here they are...
My plan is to use the prompts but also stick to drawing people so that they will fit with my instagram called imaginary_humans, which is composed entirely of imaginary humans. The drawing I did yesterday, of Jonathan Swift (the prompt was 'swift') isn't exactly an imaginary human, though by the time you copy a painting it's getting pretty imaginary. Stay tuned, and it's only the 2nd of October, so it's not too late to join the fun!
