is an art and design studio engaged in the pursuit of meaning. I offer illustration, identity and marketing design, copywriting, and consulting services. I also sell notecards, posters, and stickers that celebrate the mystery, beauty, and humor of our world and ourselves.
I started Lamb & Lion Studio over twenty years ago by drawing and then printing a poster (Love is Patient and Kind). I walked into a few stores and sold some copies. No business plan there. My impulse was, and continues to be, to use words and pictures to share ideas and emotions in an easily accessible form. Later I realized that I could shrink the poster and make it into a notecard. Lamb & Lion Studio grew slowly with more images, more marketing, and more confusion about how to be an artist and a person who makes and answers phone calls all day in the service of the business. I still haven't quite figured that out, but I'm getting there. I let the paper products business lie fallow while I got into helping others with marketing, graphic design and illustration, but the stuff biz has had a life of its own in spite of my neglect. Now I am reinventing it, with a new vision about how to do it, and why. |
